Along with members of Harthill Against Fracking, I met with Kevin Barron and a couple of representatives of the Environment Agency this afternoon. Following our formal meeting we asked Kevin to declare his position on fracking. He said that he was elected on a manifesto pledge to stop fracking, he is personally against fracking and will do what he can to support us in getting the information we need to prevent it from happening in his constituency. He also undertook to table questions at PMQ relating to fracking and to lobby parliament via other avenues. He will also facilitate further meetings with relevant agencies. I am personally reassured that he is on our side.
